An Invitation for Expressions of Interest to Chair our Keeping Adults Safe Board

The Keeping Adult’s Safe Board is the part of the Keeping Bristol Safe Partnership that fulfils the statutory functions of a Safeguarding Adults Board in Bristol. We are pleased to be seeking an Independent Chair to lead the local safeguarding arrangements in new and innovative ways, ensuring robust and effective join up and challenge of all partners. The role will include collaboration with other local partnerships (including the Keeping Children Safe and Keeping Communities Safe boards) and the regional and national adult safeguarding networks to have maximum impact. 

Applicants are welcome from any professional background including health, local government, voluntary sector and police. Our emphasis is on strategic and systems leadership along with excellent chairing skills. We are looking for an Independent Chair who has all the relevant skills and qualities to drive the board forward and ensure development and delivery of the three-year strategy. 

We are looking for someone with demonstrable strategic experience who can help us to embed partnership working at all levels, someone who promotes collaborative working who will co-ordinate partners to hold each other to account, and who has the judgement and skill to work, and build relationships, with the most senior system leaders to drive the adult safeguarding agenda. A key component will be constructive challenge which is impactful. 

Applicants should be experienced and knowledgeable in strategic leadership across partners and will possess the ability to lead, influence and motivate others. The successful candidate will be strategic and clear thinking, able to negotiate, support partners to constructively challenge each other to deliver high-quality adult safeguarding work across the partnership.

The role requires 20 days per year with a commitment to be flexible if significant tasks arise. The indicative rate of pay is £600.00 per day (with some scope to negotiate). The contract is for 3 years with consideration for additional years as required.

The appointment process will be in 2 phases: 

Phase 1 - tender/expression of interest submitted with responses to screening questions. Closing date Midnight 08.02.26 

 

Phase 2 - those shortlisted from the above will be invited to interview. Interviews to be held w/c 16.02.26
